It occurs in very pure states compared to other asphalts and has softening <br \/>points ranging from 360\u00b0 to 450\u00b0F (180\u00b0 to 232\u00b0C). It is produced specifically as an additive for <br \/>Drilling Fluids and Cementing applications. It is a competitive alternative for U.S. mined <br \/>gilsonite. Carbonite is a product of HydroCarbNite SAS of France.<\/p><p>Carbonite is chemically inert, insoluble in water, providing a deformable <br \/>solid in drilling fluids and cement. It possesses formidable technical advantages over other <br \/>products at a signifiant reduction in cost<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9359bc8 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"9359bc8\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e6eae3d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e6eae3d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Carbonite is produced in 3 temperature ranges. It is a high molecular <br \/>weight hydrocarbon resin with a large molecular weight distribution, therefore its softening <br \/>point is much higher compared to other types of polymers, allowing molecular deformation to <br \/>occur gradually as it approaches its softening point and instead of completely melting into a <br \/>low-viscosity liquid, Carbonite remains as a high viscosity liquid even after 20 degrees above <br \/>its softening point.<\/p><p>Technical characteristics of Carbonite in Drilling Fluids: <br \/>a) Reduces HTHP Fluid Loss <br \/>b) Improves Filter Cake Quality<br \/>c) Stabilizes Shales<br \/>d) Helps Prevent Differential Sticking<br \/>e) ReducesTorqueandDrag<br \/>f) Effective in a High Temperature Environment<br \/>g) Strengthens the Well Bore<\/p><p>CarboniteCarbonite is a premium grade shale control and HTHP fluid loss <br \/>additive tested in major mud labs around the globe validating its superior quality and efficiency <br \/>compared with other mined gilsonites. <br \/>CarboniteCarbonite is micronized for maximum efficiency in particle size <br \/>distribution to improve the filter cake qualit.
